International Summer School “EU PRINCIPLES AND VALUES: DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”

On July 5-9, 2021 on the basis of Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky the International Summer School “PRINCIPLES AND VALUES OF THE EU: DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION, , representatives of civil society).

The summer school was held in the framework of the implementation of the EU Erasmus + Project “European values ​​of diversity and inclusion for sustainable development” (EVDISD) 620545-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-PROJECT in cooperation with the Jean Monnet Chair “Social and cultural aspects of European Study “(SCAES) – 620635-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR, Jean Monnet Chair Jean Monnet Chair” EU Climate Leadership “620031-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-CHAIR and for support of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine. The project includes large-scale research, educational and scientific-communication work on the dissemination of European values ​​in higher education and civil society: conferences, seminars, classes and studios, workshops, round tables, summer schools, trainings and workshops from European countries. experts from the Ukrainian Association of Researchers of European Values ​​in Education, the University of Genoa (Italy) and the University of Žilina (Slovakia), researchers of European integration processes in the cultural and educational space from Ukrainian universities – National Pedagogical University named after MP Drahomanov, Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, Sumy National Agrarian University, Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and other educational and socio-cultural institutions.

  • EU principles and values ​​in education and development of society: common values ​​and mutual development strategies;
  • values ​​of inclusion and diversity in EU and Ukrainian education methodologies, strategies and practices;
  • theories and practices of intercultural, cross-cultural interaction, dialogue and communication,
  • based on value constants;
  • axiological and competence approaches in higher education: theories and practices of development
  • human potential;
  • anthropological, ecocultural practices of sustainable development of intercultural citizenship;
  • integration into the European scientific and educational space: building an inclusive, innovative, socially cohesive society;
  • philosophy of unity of mankind in search of constructive praxeological strategies and tactics.
A wide range of participants (more than 330 students) were involved in the preparation and conduct of the Summer School, who worked in a mixed format (online / offline) and had the opportunity to participate in all program activities. At the same time in the offline format, in the Moscow State Pedagogical University, there were 60 participants, more than 120 on average were present at the same time every day of the summer school.
The first day of work was devoted to research and implementation of fundamental principles and values ​​of the EU in education and development of society and the problems of implementing mutual development strategies. The plenary session was attended by Professor A. Solonenko - Rector of Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Petro Krainik - Manager of Jean Monnet Erasmus + National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine, Professor M. Nesterova - Professor Coordinator Jean Monnet SCES project Jean Monnet EVDISD, I. Slavova - Director of Melitopol Development Agency, Professor R. Ochoa-Daderska - President of the Foundation "Institute for Research and Innovation in Education" (Poland), Professor L. Moskalyova - Vice-Rector for Research of Melitopol State Bohdan Khmelnytsky Pedagogical University, prof. O. Troitskaya - regional coordinator of the project Jean Monnet EVDISD, Professor N. Kochubey (National Pedagogical University named after MP Drahomanov), Professor S. Kurbatov - Advisor to the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor T. Troitskaya - Professor Melitopol State Pedagogical Bohdan Khmelnytsky University) and many other scholars and practitioners. 

The high level of activity of the participants was demonstrated by the master classes “Formation of students’ values based on cognitive and hermeneutic approaches” (leader S. Gurov – Associate Professor, Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky) and “Dialogue as a value-semantic construct of growth from” I “to “We” (O. Troitskaya – Professor, Regional Coordinator of the Jean Monnet EVDISD Project; V. Chorna – Associate Professor, Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky).

      The best practices of mutual communicative and value strategies of community development and their interaction in the cultural and educational space were reflected in the presentation of joint projects of the community and the university “We are against the era of global silence” (O. Arabadzhi, Associate Professor, Vice Rector for Distance Learning; L. Moskalyova, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research at the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Moscow State Pedagogical University, I. Slavova, Director of the Melitopol Development Agency, M. Britsyn, Pastor of the Church of Evangelical Christians “Grace”, Professor T. Troitska, Professor N. Glebova, Associate Professor L. Topalov (Bohdan Khmelnytsky Moscow State Pedagogical University).

            Scientific communication on “EFFICIENT VALUE-ORIENTED THEORIES AND PRACTICES OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE” was started by the Lecturer (Variety and Inclusion Practices in Management in India (Director, Director of Management and Support (Director, Director of Management, AK Kumar dialogical principles and strategies of human unity as a practical philosophy of survival “(O. Value-oriented theories and The presentation of the innovative worldview paradigm of human development “new type” in the composition of Nature, Society, Space “Man changes the world” was actualized.  The training "Research of Intercultural Dialogue: EU Best Practices" in the program not only on this day, but also in the system of "activities" of the Summer School developed complex algorithms and stages of intercultural dialogue based on analysis of European experience (M. Nesterova, Professor Jean Monnet SCAES, Academic project coordinator Jean Monnet EVDISD, O. Yatsenko, Associate Professor of Management and Innovative Technologies of Socio-Cultural Activities of the National Pedagogical University named after MP Drahomanov).

Workshop “We learn value-dialogue communication strategies” (Professor T. Troitskaya; Professor O. Troitskaya, regional coordinator of the project Jean Monnet EVDISD; Professor Y. Shevchenko (Moscow State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky) -communicative strategies of unity of society.

The third day was devoted to socio-educational aspects of the problem “INCLUSION AND VALUES OF DIVERSITY IN EDUCATION (UKRAINE AND EU): virtual course” Values ​​of inclusion and diversity in EU education “(D. Suprun, NPU named after MP Drahomanov); Workshop” I and Others: psychological readiness for “inclusive” interaction ” Readiness of society to implement the ideas of inclusion: the results of an informal survey “(Associate Professor G. Afuzov, NPU named after MP Drahomanov); master class” Journey to the world of limitations: advantages or disadvantages? ” and Psychology of Podolsk Special Educational and Rehabilitation Socio-Economic College), training “Problems of formation of information culture of students as a factor of social inclusion” (Associate Professor S. Tsymba l, NPU named after MP Драгоманова; workshop “Practical principles of easy reading” (R. Kravchenko, Chairman of the Board of BT “Sources”, Adviser to the Coalition for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities due to Intellectual Disabilities).

Real dialogue as an informative and existential interaction of subjects of different values, aimed at understanding differences of opinion and finding constructs of combination, presented the fourth day on “EFFECTIVE THEORIES AND PRACTICES OF INTERCULTURAL CULTURE, CROSS VALUE CONSTANTS “: training” Crisis communications for educational institutions “(Associate Professor A. Blaskova University of Žilina, Slovakia); Seminar “Gender Equality: European Policies and Practices” (Associate Professor T. Matusevych, Head of the International Relations Department of NPU named after MP Drahomanov; Associate Professor M. Konovalov, NPU named after MP Drahomanov; presentation of the Educational and Scientific Center socio-cultural development of the child “(Associate Professor T. The fifth day concluded with a search for methodologies, theories, strategies for harmonizing the social space that integrates social institutions, including science, education, culture, which ensure the inclusion of all citizens in joint activities and unity around solving or minimizing life problems. Each day of work ended in a communicative format “free microphone”, which included summarizing, asking questions, discussing current issues, rating the growth of elements of competence in the process (before and after the blitz poll), evaluation of activities, networking and other forms communication and “friendly conversation”. On the last day, the Summer School was closed, words of gratitude were expressed to the participants and speakers from the rector of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Moscow State Pedagogical University A. Solonenko and project coordinator M. Nesterova, certificates were awarded to the Summer School participants. The main and inspiring positions of all meetings were ideas and ways to attract and involve people:
a / to unity;
b / to the transformation of diversity from a factor of weakness into a resource for human development and society;
c / to equality in education and realization of human potential;
d / to the harmonious solution of vital problems of society and nature;
e / to the main principle of life – all for themselves and for the good of others.

During the summer school, participants received theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of education based on values ​​and sustainable development of society. Participants had the opportunity to clarify their own values, positions, goals and effective strategies for intercultural communication. During the summer school, in particular, as part of a workshop held by prof. M. Nesterova, participants in both offline and online format, visualized strategic scenarios for the development of higher education in Ukraine, considered possible risks and obstacles, opportunities to find common ground between universities and communities. Also at the initiative of prof. M. Blaskova (University of Žilina, Slovakia), EU internal expert in the project, presented a comparative analysis of the initial study of European values ​​in European and Ukrainian universities. All participants noted the relevance and importance of the results obtained. Therefore, it was decided to initiate cooperation with the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine on further implementation of the project of research of European values ​​for sustainable development of education and society of our country.
